Canapés & Finger Food

Canapes are single bites served at stand-up events, eaten in one or two mouthfuls with a drink in the other hand. Finger food is the heartier version: sliders, arancini, skewers and mini pies that can carry a crowd through an evening. Most office events use both, starting with something light and finishing with something warm.

Offices order finger food for client drinks, product launches, award nights, farewells, Christmas drinks and the end of a long project. The rule we cook to is simple. Everything has to be easy to pick up, hold its shape on a napkin and still taste good after it has sat on the table for a while. If it needs a plate, it belongs on another page.

The Italian bites: Mini Arancini with mushroom and saffron, Mini Polpetta in Napoletana sauce, chicken, beef and lamb croquettes, Rockmelon & Prosciutto, Watermelon and Prosciutto, Avocado Crostini and Caprese Skewers. Something more filling: Lamb Sliders, Chimichurri Lamb, Chicken, Beef and Salmon Skewers, arancini platters, Mini Party Pies and the Mixed Pie & Sausage Roll Platter.

From the sea: Crispy Battered Barramundi Bites, Prawn Tail & Prosciutto, Smoked Salmon & Mascarpone Rolls, a kilo of U10 King Prawns and Sydney Rock Oysters. Canapes are sold by the piece, so you can build the mix yourself. Tell us your headcount and how long the event runs, and we will suggest how many pieces to order.

Finger food is where you can taste whether a caterer really cooks. Our arancini are made with ragù or saffron and porcini, our croquettes with a béchamel filling and our polpette simmered in our house Napoletana, all in our own kitchen on Bent Street. Head chef John Thomas worked on events and weddings with Preludio in Italy before bringing that experience to Sydney.

We deliver ourselves, in our own van, up to your floor. For a launch or a client night, you can go a step further and hire a chef and service team: our chefs finish dishes on site and the waitstaff look after service, so the hosts can stay with their guests.

A stand-up crowd is a mixed crowd, so the range covers it. Vegetarian: mini arancini, avocado crostini, caprese and vegetable skewers, spinach and feta mini quiches. Gluten-free: every skewer platter, from chicken to caprese, plus gluten-free versions of both arancini platters. Halal-certified options run across most of our menus, and every item shows its dietary tags.

Once finger food is on a tray in someone's hand, labels are no help, so tell us about allergies when you order. We cross-check every item for peanuts, tree nuts, sesame, shellfish, eggs, gluten and dairy, and every platter is labelled before it leaves. Our kitchen is not a fully allergen-free environment, so for complex needs, call before ordering.

We deliver canapes and finger food across the Sydney CBD, Martin Place, Barangaroo, Circular Quay, Wynyard, Pyrmont, Ultimo, Surry Hills, Darlinghurst, Potts Point, Woolloomooloo, North Sydney, Crows Nest, Chatswood, Macquarie Park and the inner Eastern Suburbs. Order by 2:30pm for next-day delivery. Give us 48 hours for a large or custom event menu, and three to five days for 200 guests or more. When you choose your delivery slot at checkout, leave yourself a few minutes to set out the platters before the first guest walks in. We deliver Monday to Friday.
